Closure & Frontal Type
Filter
Closures and frontals are the foundation of any great wig or weave. They create the illusion of hair growing from your scalp, giving your style a seamless, polished finish. Without one, your protective style runs the risk of revealing tracks, the wig cap, or your own hairline. With one, your style gains an invisible, natural-looking ending.
Closure vs. Frontal – What's the Difference?
The short version: Closures are smaller. Frontals are bigger. Closures are for consistent parts. Frontals are for maximum flexibility.
A lace closure is a smaller piece of lace, typically 4x4, 5x5, or 6x6 inches, sewn into the front or crown of a wig cap. The hair is hand-tied onto the lace, creating a natural scalp appearance in a defined area.
A lace frontal is a larger piece of lace, typically 13x4 or 13x6 inches, that stretches across the front of your head from ear to ear. More lace means more parting options and a natural hairline across your entire front.
Both create a natural hairline. The difference is how much lace you get and how much styling flexibility you want.
